I am a qualified Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I trained for my diploma at the Person-CentredCounselling services at Old Trafford, Manchester and Qualified in 2003.
Since qualifying I have worked in a range of mental health settings, offering emotional support on a telephone helpline, one to one individual counselling and group work. This has mainly been to people who experience mild to severe, complex and enduring mental health problems.
I have provided private, paid and unpaid Counsellingto clients who use the Mental health services at Stockport Mind, to clients from the lesbian and gay community who use the services at the Lesbian and gayfoundation in Manchester and Private clients who I have seen in my own home.
My main experience lies within gaining insights, understandings, knowledge from working with my clients and having regular training, self development that I need tofurther my Counselling career.
As a member of the BACP I am obliged to work within their codes of ethics and as part of my ongoingpersonal andprofessional development I receiveregular Supervision, where I can discuss in confidence my counselling practise.
This is necessary for me towork effectively as a Counsellor, so I can offer my clients the best service possible.
